What a day.....

Well after not much sleep the alarm went off at 5am, the boys we not pleased until they remembered where we were going and then they got excited.
The taxi arrived a little after 5:30am the 4 bags, Ben’s walker box & all the hand luggage was piled in.  The boys’ eager to try out their new car set.
Then we bid a fond farewell to our home for the next 5 weeks.
The hour journey was made lot easier by the fact that the very kind taxi driver put on Shrek the movie for the boys to watch.
As we arrived at Manchester airport my nervous kicked in big time, this was it we were going all the months of planning we starting to happen.  We were greeted as soon as we approached the American Airlines desk by a lovely man who went out of his way to help us and made me a little calmer.   We also so the other family whose daughter is have surgery the same day as Ben.  The checking in was as smooth as it could be, I managed to get searched twice! – Then we moved on to the departure lounge for breakfast.
After a short wait we were on to the plane......
8 hours 40 minutes sandwiched between my two boys was a challenging role, Damian managed to sit himself across the aisle from us – but I did make him do most of the toilet visits as his punishment!  On the whole they were so good the PSP Santa gave them for Christmas came in very handy, he’s one clever man.  Jacob & Damian managed a nap but Ben refused.  The boys showed me just how amazing and brave they are by holding my hand during the horrible turbulence – I really don’t like it.  Then again they held my hands and gave lots a cuddles during landing – so proud of them.
On arrival at Chicago it was a little too quick for my liking once off the plane it was through immigration for finger prints and eye scanning and few questions, then off to claim baggage then off to check-in luggage again for flight number 2 on to the train to Terminal 3, through security again (with thanks to the Wardleworth family for their help) and mad rush to the gate just as it was boarding.  Sadly we did not meet up with my sister, husband & nephews as their flight was arriving later then we thought – was gutted though really wanted to see them (sort out skype quickly Em).
This flight was a walk in the park 57 minutes just enough time to have a drink and a read of the in-flight magazine & before you knew it we had landed.
Once bags were collected we bid a fond farewell to the Wardleworth’s & off to find a taxi large enough for all our bags and stuff.  Then a 20 minute ride and we arrived at the apartment our new home for the next 5 week, it is lovely just what we need for our new home.
What an emotional, tiring & exciting day it has been 21 hours awake,
