A Trip To The Movies.....

Well I hate to say it in case I speak to soon but we seem to be getting full nights sleeps now & we are all a lot happier in the mornings.
It was my turn to take Ben to PT this morning, now this may sound a easy thing to do but believe me it not as easy.  Ben in his wheelchair with is walker hanging on the back, crossing over a very busy road where there is still snow & ice.
We also wished Belle, Ben’s SDR twin all the best wishes as she was having her second operation today, Ben asked me all day for updates on her, he really cares for her, as we all do.
Anyway we made it safely over the hospital, Ben had been complaining about his little splints yesterday I had managed to get him to wear them across to PT anyway.  I later found out from Erica to try thicker socks...  Keith did not turn up so we did PT without them on, the only problem is his trainers are a little too big and hard for him to walk in, but he prefers it that way.
Erica told Ben it was time to start on the treadmill, Ben was a little unsure but he always does what they ask him, he’s good in that way, grated he sometimes need a little bit more persuading.

He found it hard & complained about the discomfort in his left calf but Erica told him he needed to do it to stretch it out and help him walk tall.  He looks so tall now as he walks his whole body looks so long, just amazing.  Both Erica & I did a few stretches on his legs to help him as he was struggling a little.
He managed really well but he was disappointed by what he had done but Erica told he had done well.

Next it was off to the Total Gym, Erica moved it up 2 levels and he did this with no really problem, when he focuses he works so hard you can even see it in his eyes.
Then Erica introduced ‘The Wobble Board’, by this time Ben was tired but does not like to give up so had a go.

He found this really really hard, Erica explained that he would find it hard but it would really help him.  We did have a few tears and aggression so I walked to the other side of the room and left them to it.  I was so pleased with his efforts today but I could tell he was a little upset so we changed the subject & went home.
Damo & Jacob had planned our afternoon activities – the plan was Yogi Bear at the movies then a steak dinner, sounded good to me.
So we headed off on the I-44 to the movies, both boys were as usual excited even more so when they found out we had the whole theatre to ourselves.  Damo tried to convince them he had paid for us to have it to ourselves but they knew better. It was an ok film but the boys loved it & Jacob stayed awake and didn’t moan ones which was a miracle in itself.
After we jumped back in the car and a short trip down the road we arrived at Longhorn Steak House.  Wow what an amazing meal both boys ate a huge steak & both mine & Damo steaks where the best I have ever had anyway.   Then came the pudding, I have managed to get a picture off their website at I thought they had given us 2 portions but it was only one, even Kimi (my cousin) would have fallen off her chair at the sight.

Safe to say we did not quite manage to eat it all we did give it a good shot though.
We all left feeling very very full and a little sick.
After a 10 minute drive we were home, it had been a long day & we were all shattered so a quick wash, teeth brushed PJ’s on & it was bedtime.
Tomorrow the plan is to go to the City Museum – but who knows!!!!
